June 10th The Children’s Book Museum hosts its annual Children’s Book Parade (Kinderboekenparade). A whole day full of creative activities to enjoy and stimulate our wonderful imagination, and express the many stories we have inside. This year Caja will tell an English story as well as Dutch stories in the reading corner of Mingle Mush, Anna van Buerenplein, The Hague (= the square next to Central Station).
A Selkie Story (2+) – Join storyteller Caja van der Poel on a journey into the cold waters of the Atlantic and meet a most magical creature: a Selkie. Watch in wonder as the seal transforms into a mythical maiden, and listen, as her story unfolds.
Performance: 14:15 at Mingle Mush, Anna van Buerenplein The Hague. The festival opens at 11:00.
Before and after the show you are welcome to visit the play-exhibition I am Frog, about Max Velthuijs’ world famous amphibian, which is both in Dutch and English. If you read a little Dutch you can also visit A, B, C met de Dieren mee and jump into the world of favorite book characters like The Hungry Caterpillar, Mifi, Dikkie Dik, Lars de kleine ijsbeer and Elmer. Both exhibitions are tuned to 2-6 year olds and invite children to move, play, create and discover.
